Asset verification – shown with a blue checkmark – gives your team a clear, at-a-glance signal that the information on a given asset has been reviewed and confirmed.
What Is a Verified Asset?
A verified asset is a physical asset whose information — such as its name, description, manufacturer, model, serial number, and associated systems — has been reviewed and confirmed to meet your organization’s standards for accuracy and completeness.
Verified assets are marked with a blue checkmark icon that appears directly on the asset in both list and detail views. Unverified assets display a red icon in the same location, making it easy to distinguish between assets that have been reviewed and those that haven’t.
Why Verification Matters
Unverified assets may have incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate records. When your team relies on asset data, knowing whether that data has been confirmed reduces risk and improves confidence in the information being used.
The verification status also helps teams prioritize data quality efforts by making it immediately visible which assets still need attention.
How to Verify an Asset
You can verify an asset directly from either the asset list or the asset detail view. The process is the same in both locations.
Locate the asset. Navigate to the asset you want to verify, either from the asset list or by opening the asset’s detail view.
Click the verification icon. Find the icon to the right of the asset name (in list view) or next to the asset name (in detail view). For an unverified asset, hovering over the icon displays the tooltip: "Verify that the data on this asset is valid and up to date." Click the icon to begin the verification process.
Confirm the verification. A confirmation dialog will appear with the message: "Mark this asset as verified if its information meets your standards for accuracy and completeness." Click Confirm to proceed.
The blue checkmark appears. The icon updates immediately to a blue checkmark, confirming the asset has been verified. The status is reflected in both the list and detail views.
Managing Verified Assets
Removing Verification
If an asset’s information is no longer accurate or complete, you can remove its verified status at any time.
Click the blue checkmark on the verified asset. The tooltip reads: "This asset is currently marked as verified. Click to remove verification if its information no longer meets your standards."
Confirm the removal. A dialog will appear with the message: "By confirming, you acknowledge that this asset’s information may no longer be accurate or complete according to your standards." Click Confirm to remove verification.
The icon returns to the red unverified state, indicating the asset needs to be reviewed again before it can be re-verified.
Filtering by Verification Status
You can filter your asset list to focus on verified or unverified assets:
Open the Filters panel on the asset list.
Select the Verified filter.
Choose Verified to show only assets with a blue checkmark, or Unverified to show only assets that still need review. Clear the filter to return to viewing all assets.
Who Can Verify Assets
Verification is available to most roles within the application. The following roles can verify and unverify assets:
Super Admin
Organization Admin
Location Admin
Employee
Users with Employee Limited Access do not have permission to verify or unverify assets.
