Aetos allows administrators to expand their physical equipment directories directly from inside the 3D virtual environment.
Role Permissions
Super Admin and Admin: Can create assets across any location in their organization.
Building Admin: Can create assets and place tags, but only within their assigned physical locations.
Employee and Employee Limited Access: Restricted from creating assets.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Path A: Add a New Asset with tag Placement
Navigate to the Assets page from the left navigation sidebar.
Ensure you have selected your target Location and floor.
Walk or navigate inside the 3D scan panel to the physical spot where the equipment is located.
Click the + button in the top-right corner of the list panel. This opens the Asset Creation form on the left.
In the Position section of the form, click Place in Scan.
A blue banner will display at the top of your screen with instructions: "Click anywhere in the scan to place asset tag."
Hover your cursor inside the 3D scan panel. A circular icon representing your asset will stick to your pointer.
Click directly on the physical surface of the equipment inside the 3D scan to lock its coordinates.
Enter your asset's Name, Systems, and metadata in the form fields on the left.
Click Save in the bottom edit bar.
A green success banner confirms the asset was saved, and your new active tag will render inside the 3D scan.
Path B: Add a Subcomponent under a Parent Asset
To quickly map a nested component (such as a pressure gauge on an active pump):
Select the parent asset from your list or click its tag in the scan to open its detail panel.
Click the More actions button (⋯) in the top-right corner of the panel.
Select Add subcomponent from the menu.
The 3D scan enters placement mode. Move your mouse inside the scan and click the physical surface of the subcomponent.
The form panel opens, pre-linking the Parent Asset field with your parent equipment's name.
Enter the name and metadata for the subcomponent, then click Save in the bottom bar.
A green success banner confirms the subcomponent was saved, and it will now appear nested under your parent asset's Subcomponents history.
