This guide will walk you through the process of creating a new user in the Aetos platform using a username. This method is ideal for users who may not have a company email address.
Step 1: Navigate to the Users Page
- From the main navigation menu on the left, click on Users.
Step 2: Add a New User
- On the Users page, click the Add button (the plus icon) in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Fill in User Details
- A form will appear. Fill out the user's information. The following fields are required:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Username
- Role
- Locations
- Once all the necessary information has been entered, click Save at the bottom-right of the screen. The new user will now appear in your user list.
Step 4: Set the User's Password
- Click on the newly created user's name from the list to open their profile.
- Select the Change Password button.
- Enter and confirm a new password for the user.
Understanding the "Temporary Password" Option
By default, the Temporary Password toggle is switched on.
- When ON: The password you set is temporary. The first time the user logs in, they will be required to create their own unique, permanent password.
- When OFF: If you switch this toggle off, the password you create for the user will become their permanent password.
Step 5: Finalize Password Creation
- After setting the password, click the Save button.
- A confirmation message, "User has been successfully updated," will appear at the bottom of the screen.
You have now successfully created a new user! Be sure to securely communicate the username and the temporary password to them so they can log in for the first time.
